With a book editor, it's all about the relationship. Do we click? Do I get you and what you're trying to do? There's no way to determine that without me editing some of your work.

I will edit the first 20 (or so) pages of your novel FOR FREE.

Just send it to me, and I'll write notes including corrections, comments, and questions. Then I'll send it back, and you can decide if I'm someone you want to hire to help you get to the finish line. If you want to work with me, we'll negotiate a fee based on my intimate, first-hand knowledge of an indie author's budget. If not, no big deal. Thanks for letting me see your work and best of luck with it!

It's no risk. Worst case scenario: you get a beta reader take on your story opening. Note: If you want someone to pat you on the head and say your work is perfect the way it is, I'm probably not your guy. Also, it goes without saying, but I'll say it: I will of course keep your writing confidential throughout the process.
